In late August, Michigan Messenger reported that two MSU basketball players were accused of raping a female freshman student; however, charges were never brought against the two players.
The issue sparked significant controversy among basketball fans, MSU students and local residents. Ever since the story made news, the Coalition Against Sexual Violence at MSU has staged several protests at popular events such as Midnight Madness and the Izzone Campout. On Tuesday November 2, MSU held their first basketball game of the season at the Breslin Center where yet again the coalition appeared to state its views.
