The Union of Non-Tenured Faculty at Michigan State University rallied outside the Administration Building in support of negotiations for its first-ever contract. A handout provided focused on three questions, reproduced here in its entirety:
Who are we?
About 1/3 of MSU professors and instructors who teach about 2/3 of MSU undergraduate classes. We are not on the traditional tenure track.
Why are we here?
Because we are at risk of being replaced by cheaper, inexperienced teachers. We want job security based on merit.
What do we want you to do?
Please sign the postcard to President Simon, asking her to work with us for quality education at MSU.
