Undercovers continues to be a very average program. In case you are unaware of the show, it is about a couple that were with the CIA, but they retired to open a catering company.
However, they have been recruited to come back and work for the CIA when they are needed. The two leads are Stephen and Samantha Bloom, played by Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who do work very well together. Unfortunately, their chemistry and the action are the only two good things about this show.
In this week’s episode, they are tasked with catching a man who had escaped from prison and recapturing a CIA hard drive that he had taken. They got to travel to Ireland, which resulted in some pretty bad accent work throughout the entire episode.
There are two other characters that work with Stephen and Samantha. They are William Hoyt, played by Ben Schwartz, who is a junior field agent that does a lot of the tech work, and Leo Nash, played by Carter Macintyre, who is a fellow CIA agent and longtime friend of the couple that shows up at all of their missions.
Those two supporting characters are terrible. Will is obsessed with Stephen and sucks up to him any chance he can get. And when he isn’t doing that, he makes really, really bad jokes.
For Leo, he tries to be the cocky, funny guy, but he is not funny at all. It also makes no sense for him to be at every one of their missions. They mentioned that he would help them sometimes, but not with everything they do.
Not only that, but he once had relations with Samantha, and they bring it up more times then they ever should. I will mention that they kept the stupid dialogue from those two characters to a minimum this week and Will did contribute and became a little less annoying.
However, they are both still useless and annoying overall. My other main problem with this show is that it is somewhat boring at times. This is an action show and it shouldn’t be dragging at any point, but it does.
But, even though I have been hard on it, it does have some redeeming qualities. Like I mentioned already, Stephen and Samantha have great chemistry and it is really fun to watch them do what they do.
The other good thing about this show is the action. Even though I said that it is boring at times, it is exciting at others and they do have some good action sequences.
Undercovers is a very average show. It is not terrible and it isn’t great. Coming from a man like J.J. Abrams, I was expecting more from this show. However, I would recommend it if you have nothing else to watch. It isn’t the worst way to spend an hour.

Glad I haven’t looked at this one. Sounds pretty bad and sometimes I even have trouble continually watching good shows. One I really like, though, is Detroit 1-8-7. Now, that is a great new show.
GO SPARTANS!!!
