Now that 24 is off the air, Supernatural is now my favorite show on television. I will begin to review and grade each episode.
Well, Supernatural is back! After last weeks subpar premiere, “Two and a Half Men” was a breath of fresh air that felt like an episode from the earlier seasons.
In the premiere, Sam had come back from hell and told Dean that he had been alive for a year. He also mentioned that he was hunting with some family members of theirs. They are the Campbells, who are from their mother’s side of the family.
That storyline has not been very good so far, but I am hoping it will get better. However, lets get to the episode from this week.
Shape shifters were the problem for the brothers, as this time around, they were killing parents of infants, and then taking the babies. Early on in the episode, we got to see more of Dean in his family life.
However, it is not long before Sam calls him asking him for help. Sam had found a baby in a house all alone after his parents had been killed. Dean comes to help and we get some pretty good comedy from the two brothers trying to take care of a baby.
It actually turned out that the baby’s father is the alpha shifter, the leader of all the shape shifters, and the baby did some shape shifting of his own. In the end, the alpha shifter actually took the baby.
However, the best part about the episode was the very end. Dean was confused about weather he should stay with Lisa and her son, or go out and hunt. She tells him to go and that he can come back any time he wants.
The last scene showed him dusting off the old impala with the great song, Smoke on the Water, playing in the background. So, Dean and the impala are back to doing what they do best.
After last week, I was hoping that that this season would get better. I did not think it was bad, but it did have some set-ups, and it did not have many of the elements that made Supernatural great. It just felt very different.
This week also felt different, but it had some great scenes that Supernatural does so well. I still do not like the Campbell family storyline, but it left us on a cliffhanger that will hopefully improve it.
The episode featured some great comedy, including the scene where the brothers are buying baby supplies, and another where Dean was taking care of the baby by humming the great riff to Smoke on the Water and giving him some alcohol.
So, I think this was a step up from last week’s effort and I hope to see more improvement from the show as the weeks go on. How could it not? Sam and Dean are driving around in their impala taking care of monsters. It doesn’t get much better than that.

I liked this one better than last week’s too. Maybe the family (cousins and all) are going to turn out to be bad guys…
Loved the end of this one too! Sam, Dean and the Impala you’re right that’s what makes this show fun. I think the Campbell’s might be shapeshifters? Seems too easy to me. Maybe a B+ : -) Thx
Maybe its time to suffer through the old episodes to catch up if they’re going to get the show back on track.
I really liked your comments
