With the return of Castiel this week, Supernatural continues to get closer to the greatness that it once was. This episode this week dealt with Angels and the problems with Sam.
The show started well, with two cop deaths that were similar to the plagues of Egypt. There was the plague of blood and the plague of boils. As Sam and Dean come in to solve the mystery, a third cop dies by locusts in the brain.
A kid, who was getting revenge for his brother’s death, killed the cops. He bought the Staff of Moses from an angel to use it on the cops.
This is where we learn that Heaven is in a Civil War, and many powerful items have been stolen. The Staff of Moses was taken by an Angel named Balthazar, who was inspired by Castiel to rebel.
As God is still nowhere to be seen, an old foe, Raphael, returns, as he wants to take over Heaven and get the apocalypse back on track.
We get a good scene where he beats up Castiel, but then Balthazar uses one of his items to turn Raphael into a pile of rubble. Even though Dean captured Balthazar and wanted to keep him locked up, Castiel let him go.
The episode ended with one if its usual brother-to-brother discussion that I am getting tired of. However, it seems that it will lead us into the big dispute between the brothers this season.
Dean is concerned that Sam is not all right, since he was in Hell, and that something is wrong with him. Sam tells him he is fine, but in that scene and in the previews for what’s to come, Sam has this innocent sinister look about him that does have me interested in what is going on.
This week, Supernatural has improved once again over last week’s episode, and I hope that the rest of the season can be of this caliber. I am intrigued to see if the brothers try to track down these stolen items from Heaven.
Besides the discussion at the end, the only thing I did not like about this episode was the repetitive nature of the problems in Heaven. The stolen items are new, but Heaven has been in chaos for three seasons now. That is too similar to what has been happening.
Anyway, this episode had even more humor than last week. Sam’s car was totaled, which means that the brothers are back together in the Impala, and there was no mention of the Campbells at all. Let’s hope the rest of the season can continue at this caliber.

Agreed. The heaven thing is getting old. A good episode, but I am ready for some good old fashioned monster chasing. Thought we finished that angel/demon story line last year. As usual, though, entertaining.
I personally love this show, and I think your review is a good one.
Wow, this is really good! I just want to let you know that your sister told some members on a Hogwarts Website to check out your stuff, and I want you to know that this is really good! You have some natural talent to writing articles, and I think that you should follow your dream. Please remember that no matter what happens in life, follow your dreams. You are an excellent writer, and your sister definatley has something to brag about. Enjoy writing, and remember to enjoy life to the fullest!
