I was very surprised with last week’s episode of Supernatural. I think it is one of the best episodes of the season and ended Sam’s crazy story well.
It began with Sam going crazy on the street and then he had to be taken to a mental institution. While there, Dean sees him and tells him he will fix it however he can.
So, he finds a healer who turns out to be Castiel. I knew Misha would be back, but it was kind of interesting. He had no recollection that he was an Angel and it took a while for him to figure it out.
Dean also ran into Meg. She seems to be showing up at the most random times and I can see how people can forget her.
If you have forgotten, she was a demon from the first season that worked under the yellow-eyed demon and attempted to kill the brother’s father, John.
She later came back to possess Sam in season two and then she helped out Lucifer by killing Jo and Ellen with hellhounds in season five.
However, she is back now to take care of Crowley. I suppose that makes her an ally, but it is kind of strange.
So, the three of them head to Sam in order to save him. Luckily, they just manage to get there before a leviathan eats Sam.
In the end, Castiel decides that he should transfer the issues with Sam’s brain into his own so that he could save him.
Considering it was Castiel’s fault, I think it makes sense. I also agreed with the brothers leaving him there with Meg by his side.
I think that Dean was right that they couldn’t do much for him and he would be in danger.
The only other thing I want to mention is the small plot regarding Sam helping out a woman with her dead brother.
Yes, by the end of the episode, it was practically pointless, but I did like how even when Sam is as out of it and crazy as he was, he still helped her. It was pretty good.
Anyway, I really liked this episode. Lucifer was back and still quite funny. For anyone worrying about Castiel, he is supposed to be in at least two more episodes this season, so I think it would be good to wait before judging the events thus far.
I said last time that I wish they would deal with the leviathans and although they did not, I am glad it was for a good reason.
The near two season story for Sam has come to an end and I have got say that it was pretty good, but certainly not the best. I think it ran its course and it ended before it dragged and after it got really good.
Jared did a great job in the episode and it was probably the best time to see it go. Again, though, Castiel has the problems now and so, technically, the story isn’t over, but at least Sam can go on living his life like normal again.
As a result, the brothers are going to hang out with D.J. Qualls and celebrate with a lot of drinking. It should be fun.
I enjoyed this too. Nice to move ahead I say.
