After that great ending from last week, the first few minutes dealt with Sam and how he should be moving on from the past year and forget about what he did.
However, that was very short and didn’t come up again. Luckily, we had a good hunt this week. The brothers dealt with dolls that were killing people. Those dolls were pretty creepy and I liked the way the spirit killed its victims.
Unfortunately, part way through the hunt, Dean got a call from Ben saying that Lisa was in trouble. Dean went to go help, but it turned out that Ben lied and she was beginning to date again.
While I have been somewhat on the side that is against this story, I liked it this week. I thought that it was a good way to end their time on the show. They may return, but that montage of good moments together (yes, another montage) indicated that we might not see them again.
I will say that it was an interesting story and one that I never thought we would see. The brothers were never supposed to have their own families and they never will. Their job is just too much.
I think Dean realized that point when he left earlier this season, but I certainly agreed with Lisa that he should stop showing up. Every time it seems like we won’t see them again, Dean goes back to them.
It seemed like this was Dean’s closure and now he can move on from them. So, now that they are gone, it is time to finish the hunt.
It turns out that the spirit killing people was a woman who had a horrible prank done to her and it turned ugly. A group of guys played the prank and ended up killing her by accident.
Either way, she wanted revenge. However, the brothers could only get rid of her by burning her kidney that was in her sister. That was a small, but different twist. In the end, the sister ended up dying and therefore, the spirit was defeated.
It was actually kind of sad. The brothers helped a group of jerks and an innocent person ended up dying for them to get rid of the spirit.
Anyway, it was good to have a straightforward hunt. While it wasn’t the best episode, those dolls were creepy and the possible exit of Lisa and Ben added to the story.
College Couch Potato Grade: B
As you well know, I am always of the opinion that a good hunt show is much better than story line nonsense. This was a good example. Really good during the hunt and with the mannequins, but pretty slow with the family. If I want to watch family stuff, I will watch some family show. Good episode.
