This week’s episode was the best of the year so far. It dealt with crop circles, fairies, leprechauns, and it was very, very funny. It began with a young man being abducted in crop circles by what seemed to be aliens.
Then the show went into a X-files themed intro and from there, the laughs didn’t stop. Many people in the town nearby where being asked about what they knew, and one woman suggested fairies.
They wanted to see what the father of the victim had to say about it, but he was distant and didn’t help. So, they continued on with their investigation. Dean decided to go check out the crop circles, but was abducted as well.
He did return, but he found Sam in bed with a woman and it resulted in a funny argument with the brothers. Later on, Dean was attacked by a fairy and killed it by use of the microwave. That meant that fairies abducted Dean and not aliens.
After this, the brothers went back to the crazy woman and she said that only those abducted by the fairies could see them. She also mentioned that they hate iron and that if you put salt on the ground, they have to count every little piece of it.
As the story continued, Sam provided some very funny scenes, and Dean found out that many little elves were working for the father of the victim. It turns out that he made a deal with a leprecaun. It involved him having better production with his watches, but in return, they get his first born son.
They did not make it clear to him that that is what they meant, so he made the deal. After that, Dean was being stalked by a human sized fairy. However, after a while, he attacked it, but it turned out to be a little person and he called the police.
This provided the very funny line that began trending, which was “fight the fairies!” That was possibly the best line of the year so far and it made me laugh out loud. So, Sam went to the watchmakers place to get him to reverse the spell that brought about the leprechaun, but this did not end well, as he showed up before they could reverse the spell and killed the watchmaker.
He was actually an alien aficionado that Sam ran into earlier in the episode. As this was happening, the fairy stalking Dean showed up in his jail cell. After Dean and Sam got the snot kicked out of them, Sam remembered the salt trick, and used it against the leprechaun.
This gave him time to reverse the spell, and everything went back to normal. It ended on a serious note about whether Sam actually does want his soul back, but he confirmed that he does.
This was the funniest episode in a long time. I am actually really liking the soul-less Sam. I like how he has no filter when he talks to people. If he something insulting to say to them, he will say it.
There was a scene where Dean was trying to explain to Sam about how he should suffer due to the fact that he had been abducted by aliens, but all Sam could think about was having sex with their waitress.
The entire episode was downright hilarious and it showed me why I love this show. I think if this show was primarily a comedy, it could possibly rival some of the best out there. It was just a very funny, and very good episode.
College Couch Potato Grade: A
I think it is funny now because it use to be Dean who was the womanizer, but now, it’s soulless Sam. A slick turnaround.
