Poem over photograph: at the Ice Cow Queen on Mack |
Mark James Andrews is the author of “Burning Trash” (Pudding House, 2010). His writing has appeared in many print and online venues. The photo is by Michele E. Andrews. They live approximately one mile outside the city limits of Detroit (most of the time). This photo poem originally appeared in Short, Fast and Deadly. The photo is of a defunct walk-up ice cream stand that appeared briefly in the movie “8 Mile”.

I dig this. It’s complex and yet simple. The image fits perfectly. This poem is a little beauty.
