Former Yooper Bugsy loves Michigan winters, too
To say that Bugsy Rocker (also known as Justin Sailor) #loveslansing is putting it mildly. After graduating from Michigan State with a degree in sociology and advertising, he spent a year on his “Home Invasion Tou,r” visiting all 50 states, yet he has returned home to Michigan where he intends to stay (see first video below).
And through social media such as Twitter, Bugsy has found a group of like-minded young people who are equally committed to making Lansing a mecca for innovation and entrepreneurship. They are part of a young cohort of web-savvy young people who are creating a supportive community to nurture their dreams.
Bugsy is currently putting his web skills to work professionally at M3 (Motion Marketing & Media), a multimedia marketing and public relations firm in downtown Lansing. He is also putting those skills to work personally, promoting his next personal project “Beer with Branson”- a social media experiment designed to persuade Virgin Airlines CEO Richard Branson to join him for a beer sometime during this year (see second video below).
Bugsy grew up in Baraga in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where he became a winter enthusiast (and an avid photographer). Bugsy remains the unofficial ambassador to the Yoop, and maybe he can lure Sir Richard to join him there to enjoy one of the area’s distinct microbrews.
