The Historical Society of Greater Lansing is planning their second popup historical exhibit, this time on Lansing High Schools and needs your help in assembling objects for the exhibit which will be launched later this year. The first exhibit which just finished its run was on shopping in downtown Lansing during its heyday.
“We’re looking for people to loan or donate objects from their high school days,” said Valerie Marvin President of the Lansing Historical Association.
She said the Historical Association is seeking items as varied as graduation gowns, varsity jackets, sports uniforms, school spirit memorabilia, class rings, yearbooks, prom attire, drama costumes, report cards, band uniforms, trophies, school club memorabilia, essays, class notes and awards. Video and audio recordings will also be considered.
If you graduated from Everett, Eastern, Sexton, Central, St. Mary’s High (later Mons. John W. O’Rafferty), Resurrection (later Monsignor High), Lansing Catholic Central, the Michigan School for the Blind, The Michigan Vocational School (later Boys Training) or any other private school and have items you would like to consider contact President Valerie Marvin at [email protected] or 517-282-0671.
“Nothing is too big or too small to be included,” she said.
