All former students, former staff and friends of Lansing Eastern High School are invited for a brief program and a self-guided tour of this historic school and important institution to the city of Lansing. Visitors will walk those hallways familiar since the first class started in 1928 and visit with former principals and fellow alums who made Eastern a special place to learn and live.Â
The Historical Society of Greater Lansing and the Lansing Eastern High School Alumni Association are hosting this showcase of Lansing Eastern High School on Thursday, October 21st from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
After a brief orientation in the auditorium, guests may visit a variety of locations around the building including the art room, science lab, several classrooms, social room, library, and gyms.
Parking will be in the north lot or on Pennsylvania Ave. in front of the school.
This event is one of a series featuring significant historic Lansing sites organized by the Historical Society. A year ago, over one hundred persons attended a tour of the Water Conditioning Plant on Cedar Street courtesy of the Lansing Board of Water and Light. This past August, a cemetery walk took place at the little-known North Cemetery located on Miller Road on the south side of Lansing. Additional events will occur from time to time.
