When our contributor Erin Slayter (The Localvore’s Green Scene) sent me the link about her plan to rappel down the 23-story Boji Building in Lansing, my first thought was, “This proves it - she’s certifiable.”
But that’s not news - and it’s part of her charm, as everyone who knows her will agree.
My second thought was that she risked being greeted at the bottom of the building by angry police officers who would haul her off to do hard time in stir.
But Erin assures me that this is an approved event for a good cause. The Team Lansing Foundation will send Erin “Over the Edge” on Saturday, June 5 at 9 a.m., as part of its fundraiser to help promote good things for Lansing.
Each participant must raise at least $500 in pledges to earn the honor of jumping off the building. The always-over-achieving Erin plans on at least $1,000. Click here to make your pledge to send her over the top (over the side?).
Erin is reportedly in training for the event running around the house with her dog Rudy. She’s also entertaining costume possibilities. Could a Sweaty Mouse go as anything else?
