WILX-TV 10 is reporting the Governor Rick Snyder will not recognize the roughly 300 same-sex marriages conducted Saturday in four counties. The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals halted all such marriages later that day. Yesterday the court extended the order until the appeal filed on behalf of the state of Michigan by Attorney General Bill Schuette in defense of DOMA is heard.
According to the Lansing State Journal:
Snyder says the marriages were legal at the time but the stay means the ban now is back in effect.
