Another fine episode of Supernatural, as the brothers deal with a skinwalker and continue to push the fact that Sam is not really Sam.
In the beginning, Crowley shows up and tells the brothers to hunt a werewolf, but Dean is very reluctant. However, he eventually agrees, and they begin to figure out what has been going on with recent animal killings.
It is actually a skinwalker, named Lucky, who disguises himself as a dog and lives with a family. The brothers capture him and question him, only to find that there are many, many skinwalkers out there who are waiting for the signal to turn humans into skinwalkers.
So, they get Lucky to set up a meeting with the leader of his group. This results in a great action scene where Dean who plays the role of sniper and takes out some of the skinwalkers, while Sam takes care of the rest.
In the end, they let Lucky live, but he gets rejected from his former family and he is left to wander the roads alone. However, the brothers are left contemplating what they should do next. Sam tells Dean that he has done some truly terrible things, but he doesn’t care about doing them or the fact that he doesn’t care about anyone.
He ends up saying that he wants to be the old Sam again and that they should get monsters and regain Sam’s soul.
This episode was better in terms of hunting, but worse in terms of the main storyline. There were some funny lines, good action and an interesting type of creature that we will probably see again soon.
But the ongoing story faltered. For three or four weeks, they have discussed how Sam is not the same and how he can’t be trusted. This week was just repetitive banter between them.
It was useless and the time could have been better spent with something else. Fortunately, that took a back seat to the hunt this week, and I am glad that was the case. I liked that the hunt was of a creature and not some demon or another vampire.
Another good episode of Supernatural, but it was dragged down by some repetitive discussions from the brothers. However, next week is going to be the comic relief of the season thus far, and it couldn’t come fast enough.
Last season’s comedic episode, Changing Channels, was one of the funniest things on TV last year, and I hope that next week’s fairy episode will be just as funny, or close to it. The show needs laughter right now, because we need a break from the grim tone of the season.

Agreed. But I think that the discussions are ok. They don’t do it all the time, just in between to break up the monster stuff. Besides, if this were you, could you really bring yourself to talk to him about anything else other than the fact that he doesn’t have a soul? Pretty big topic of conversation, I would think. Liked the skinwalkers..but I do look at my dog a little differently now…
