With 19% voter turnout on Tuesday, Carol Wood lost in her bid to unseat incumbent Lansing mayor, Virg Bernero. Although a recent poll last week gave a glimpse of a possible Bernero victory by a 56% to 42% margin, Bernero won his re-election bid by an even stronger margin. The final mayoral results were Virg Bernero garnering 9,988 votes (62.23%) and Carol Wood getting 5,980 (37.26%) votes.
