If opening day is just around the corner that means that baseball historian and author Peter Morris is sharpening his literary spikes. Morris, who has written several non-fiction books on baseball, mostly early baseball history, will be at the bookstore EVERYbody Reads in Lansing Michigan, 1-3 p.m., Saturday April 10 to discuss and sign paperback copies of his book “A Game of Inches: The Stories Behind the Innovations That Shaped Baseball.†The book, originally released as a hardback for baseball historians, is a romp through the arcane facts that make baseball the sport it is. “A Game of Inches†is the only baseball book to win the Seymour Medal and the Casey Award for the best baseball book of the year.
