MONDAY MORNING (JAN. 6) UPDATE: It appears Mayor Bernero has heard you and has suspended the snow shoveling ordinance for 48 hours.

“Lansing residents are reminded that city ordinance requires sidewalks to be cleared of snow and ice within 24-hours after a storm event.”
East Lansing Mayor Nathan Triplett also called a snow emergency. About sidewalks, his statement said:
“Due to dangerously low temperatures and wind chills, enforcement of the City of East Lansing’s snow removal ordinance for property owners is suspended for tomorrow. It will be unsafe to be outdoors for prolonged periods of time. Under these conditions, frostbite can occur within 30 minutes. Please exercise caution and remain indoors if possible.”
