You show me yours and I'll show you mine
The credit score issue hit me hard a few years ago when I paid off all my credits cards and made my last house payment only to find that LOWERED my credit score. And that, in turn, pushed up my homeowner and auto insurance rates. So I share this group’s outrage.
But while this activist group demands that the insurance industry become more transparent and accountable, Stop Unfair Insurance uses the worst astroturf tactics themselves. (Grassroots efforts come from real people, while astroturf initiatives are public-relations driven.)
Nowhere on the site can you find a telephone number or mailing address, or even an email address. The group asks you to give them all sorts of personal information - name, address, email, phone - but they keep their identity secret.
It makes me mad when a group whose goals I endorse refuses to be transparent and accountable. Before I tell you who I am, you need to tell me who you are and where your funding comes from.
