Lansing City Council-member Carol Wood
Friday for a cup of coffee at Biggby’s on Ottawa Street. She’s firmly engaged in the issues facing the city, particularly a city budget hit by sharply declining revenues.
Because of state revenue sharing cuts, the city faces the daunting task of dramatically cutting its budget with six months left in the fiscal year.
These cuts could dramatically change the face of city services that have been taken for granted. She talked about three alternatives presented by Mayor Virg Bernero’s administration for dealing with the shortfall.
