The Peace Education Center will host its very popular annual Alternative Holiday Sale this Saturday, November 12, 2011, from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lansing, 855 Grove St, East Lansing, MI 48823. There will be plenty of free parking at and near the church.
The Alternative Holiday Sale gives the Greater Lansing community the opportunity to meet and shop with others in the peace and justice community while supporting small personal businesses, nonprofit groups, and fair trade cooperatives. The Peace Education Center is inviting everyone to come celebrate a tradition that combines holiday shopping with a true spirit of community.
Vendors this year include woodworkers, soap artisans, booksellers, photography, handmade jewelry, knitting and other craft goods and products. Some tables will also provide information about how to get involved in peace and justice groups in the Greater Lansing area.
As always, PEC will have outstanding fresh homemade food for sale, including soups, salads, and desserts as well as coffee and cider. These will be available throughout the day. The PEC will also be selling a wide variety of handmade crafts, as well as yard signs, water bottles, buttons, and the ever popular lighted peace signs for home and office.
