“Global Day of Action on Military Spending”
The PEC will screen the 70-Minute Documentary, “War Made Easy” followed by Discussion on Government Spending Priorities with Emphasis on Plans of Action
The evening will be part of the “Global Day of Action on Military Spending.” The Peace Education Center will be showing the movie, “War Made Easy” at 7 p.m. and will have a community discussion that will continue the conversation started at the recent “Michigan Forum on Jobs and Human Needs.” The discussion — which will be done in conjunction with activist groups that organized the Forum — will emphasize ideas and suggestions for plans of action.

The 500th Straight Weekly Peace Vigil at the State Capitol
“500 Fridays, 500 Vigils, 500 People” Everyone Invited for a Community Photo
Mark you calendar and plan on joining the mid-Michigan peace community for the 500th straight weekly Peace Vigil since 9/11. Bring your family, friends, and co-workers as we want at least 500 people from the community to be part of the group photo. The photo will be taken in front of the Capitol Building at our usual location at Michigan Avenue and Capitol Avenue.

The Peace Education Center will hold its annual art auction at one of Lansing’s hottest new art galleries in Lansing, REO Art Alley. Wonderful art pieces will be auctioned. We have some great musical performances scheduled for the evening. And you can enjoy wine & cheese, or a dip in the chocolate fountain. You don’t want to miss this great fundraiser for the PEC.

George Williston, Author of This Tribe of Mine, about the Viking influence on history, war, and violence.
It is only coincidence that the movie about the god of war, “Thor,” will be released a week earlier. Author George Williston will discuss his book, This Tribe of Mine, which focuses on the historical influence Viking culture has had on violence, war, and culture in America. A booking signing will follow.
