Idle No More at the Capitol - Mon., Jan. 28 at 1 p.m.

idle-no-more-230This event is to honor the WORLDWIDE DAY OF ACTION called by the Idle No More grassroots founders and organizers from across Canada. We will be peacefully protesting the attacks on democracy, indigenous sovereignty, human rights and environmental protections.

We will Round Dance in front of the capitol building at the corner of Michigan and Capital Avenue. There is a parking garage located to the South of the meeting point. Visit the Facebook page for more details.

Bonnie Bucqueroux teaches at Michigan State University's School of Journalism. A National Magazine Award winner, Bucqueroux built her first website in 1996. She is credited with having the first campaign blog of any candidate running for federal office when she ran for Congress as the Green Party candidate for District 8 in 2000. She and Susan Masten were also recently named co-presidents of Lansing Area NOW.
