Editor’s Note: Sharp-eyed visitors will note that the names of the two photographers whose images grace this page are Dan Peters and Shirl Peters. A bit of checking confirmed that they are brother and sister, so I guess that settles the issue of whether artistic talent runs in families. We want to thank both of them for letting us use their stunning images. You can see more of their images on Flickr - click for Dan and for Shirl.
Editor’s Note Two: The comments section under Dan’s image on Flickr explains that in addition to shooting amazing photos, Dan helped to rescue a lost boy during the event. Thanks to Dan for intervening.

Ah, yes! We’ve learned the hard way that you need to get there early or forget watching the parade.
I keep saying it is time for us to either expand the route or get bleacher seating along the route.
I was prepared to bring a ladder along this year (like I watched clever folks do to watch the Rose Parade in Pasadena on the crowded sidewalks) so the kids could watch…but we got there early enough for a view this year thanks to my dear husband reserving some spots for us.
