The Lansing Chapter of the Weston A. Price Foundation is hosting a film series called “Food and Your Health.” All films are free and open to the public. The first film, “Food, Inc.,” kicks off this Sunday, January 31st at 2 p.m. at the South Lansing Branch of the Capital Area District Library (3500 South Cedar St. in Lansing).

Sunday January 31st - 2pm
“Food, Inc.” Directed by Robert Kenner (94 min.) explores the food industry’s detrimental effects on our health and environment. The film spotlights the men and women who are working to reform an industry rife with monopolies, questionable interpretations of laws and subsidies, political ties and rising rates of E. coli outbreaks.
Sunday February 7th- 2pm
“The Future of Food” by Deborah Koons Garcia. (90 Min.) Before compiling your next grocery list, you might want to watch this eye-opening documentary, which sheds light on a shadowy relationship between agriculture, big business and government. By examining the effects of biotechnology on the nation’s smallest farmers, the film reveals the unappetizing truth about genetically modified foods: You could unknowingly be serving them for dinner.
Sunday February 21st – 2pm
“FRESH” by Sofia Joanes (72 min.) celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system. Each has witnessed the rapid transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they offer a practical vision for a future of our food and our planet.
