You can use different colored baby socks for the hat
Supplies:
- White tube socks
- White (or colored) baby socks
- Bean bag fill plastic pellets
- Rubber bands
- Christmas decorations, buttons, bells and other items to make faces and snowman decorations
- Ribbon
- White glue
One adult-size tube sock filled with bean bag fill plastic pellets serves as the body. Use three rubber bands to create the shape: (1) use one rubber band at the very top of the sock to seal it, (2) use your second rubber bang about an inch down from the top to bulk out the topknot under the hat, and (3) use the third rubber band to create the neck. Play around with the proportions until you are happy with the way your snowman body looks.
Take one baby sock and pull it down over the topknot and about one-third of the way down the head. Use buttons or bells to make the eyes, nose and mouth, using glue to attach them in appropriate places. I also liked to use small red dots for the three buttons on the snowman’s belly, and another at the top of the baby sock hat. A snippet of ribbon around the neck hides the rubber band. You can then sprinkle a few Christmas decorations to make sure each snowman is unique.
