Do you love animals? So does Wayne Pacelle, the president of the Humane Society of the United States and author of the new book “The Bond: Our Kinship with Animals, Our Call to Defend.” (Co-publisher Bill Castanier reviewed the book recently.) But not only does Wayne love them, he works hard every day to make sure that others give them the humane treatment and respect that they deserve.
The two videos below capture Wayne’s appearance at the Everybody Reads bookstore in Lansing, MI, on Sunday, August 7, 2011, where he spoke to a packed house. The first is Wayne’s talk and the second is most of the following question-and-answer period.
The Humane Society of the United States is offering a $2,500 reward for information on a dog fighting ring believed to be operating in the Lansing area. The HSUS was instrumental in bringing down the Michael Vick dog-fighting ring and one in Lansing a few years ago.
