Join Lansing legend Betty Price and East Lansing playwright and author Sandra Seaton 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 25th at Schuler Books in Okemos for a talk about Sandra’s article “Betty Price and George Nelson: Spreading the Word About Modern Design,” featured in the Fall 2011 issue of “Modernism” magazine, and Betty’s wonderful 50-year career in retailing at Liebermann’s in downtown Lansing. Lansing area residents will remember Liebermann’s as a special store in downtown Lansing and it was the place to go for wedding gifts and luggage (real luggage). At Christmas it was filled with limited edition items you would see no where else.

George Nelson who has an international reputation was responsible for the design of the Liebermann’s store in downtown Lansing. The store which is considered an architectural gem is now vacant.
