Excellent article, Bonnie. I grew up in a rural setting. I love big cities, but I crave time alone in green fields and woods every so often. It always gives me a resharpened sense of focus. As a college student, I agree that the green addition to students’ lives will have to happen at an early age. I wonder if teachers at schools where there are hoophouses or gardens for the children to utilize do see a difference?

Awesome article Bonnie! Could not agree more on all accounts but I do think there is still hope in rewiring college students as well as early ed. I noticed that MSU hosted an on-site Habitat for Humanity pre-fab build during welcome week – a step in the right direction for sure!
